Electric Rates are Increasing

The Canby Utility Board of Directors is proposing to increase electric rates that will go into effect on November 1, 2023. The additional funds are needed to cover, at a minimum, the Bonneville Power Administration’s BP-24 wholesale power rate increase, and also allow Canby Utility to help cover increased operational costs of its electric distribution system. Canby Utility’s last electric rate adjustment was November 1, 2019.

Canby Utility anticipates proposed rates will be announced by September 14, 2023, and will hold a public rate hearing on October 10, 2023. At that time, interested persons are welcome to attend and comment on the proposed rates. The hearing will start at 7 p.m. at 1265 Southeast Third Avenue in Canby. Written testimony will be accepted until 3 p.m. on the day of the hearing.

Please watch our website, your utility bill messages, and the Canby Herald for the final proposed rates.
