Yes, they do! Our water crew identified 9 outdated fire hydrants that date back to the 1950’s. These hydrants are smaller, having only 2 ports that will not accept a modern fire hose adapter and are more time consuming for firefighters to connect their hoses to them. We have determined that replacing the aging hydrants would benefit the community. The new modern hydrants will include a port with a 4½ inch opening compatible with fire hoses for easier connection to make our firefighters’ jobs easier!
