Approved Rate Schedule

The Canby Utility Board of Directors approved an increase to the electric rates effective November 1, 2019. The rate adjustment will increase overall revenues by 4.5%.

The additional funds are needed to cover BPA’s BP-20 wholesale power rate increase and allow Canby Utility to cover costs associated with current period operating expenses.

The Board held an open public hearing, on October 8, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., at 1265 SE 3rd Avenue in Canby.

Unmetered Lighting Usage

The monthly billing charge for all unmetered lighting fixtures shall be the lamp rated of that fixture in watts divided by 1000 multiplied by 365 hours of operation per month multiplied by the then-current General Service billing rate. The monthly hours of operation are determined at 365 days in a year multiplied by 12 hours average operation day per day divided by 12 months that equals 365.

Renewable Green Power
Our Green Power, also known as "environmentally preferred power," comes from the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) . Purchasing Green Power supports the development of renewable, non-polluting energy in the Pacific Northwest. BPA will use roughly two-thirds of the proceeds from the sale of Green Power to support research and development . The remaining one-third of the funds goes to the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, a non- profit entity in Portland , Oregon.  You may purchase Green Power in increments of 100 kWh blocks.
